The under-pavement joints are rubber profiles of suitable size anchored by means of two steel angles on the two sides of the slit, at the level of the slab: they remain completely covered by the asphalt surface.
The under-pavement joints can be installed before the slab is poured (in this case anchoring rounds are supplied welded to the corner pieces, to be incorporated in the slab casting) or after casting (in this case suitable anchors are provided for anchoring to concrete). This type of joint is used in correspondence of small passageways (max 40 mm), where it is necessary to guarantee limited displacements (max +/- 20 mm). The main advantages are:
Construction simplicity
Economy
Easy to install
High durability, due to the absence of flooring elements in contact with vehicular traffic
Available models: UB1 (+/- 15mm): rubber cord with "mushroom" section with external containment corners UB2 (+/- 20mm): rubber cable profile with external containment angles, upper cover plate, lower rubber cover for rainwater collection and drainage
